Employee Leaves of Absence

Werman Law Office counsels employees to understand their rights to medical and other leaves of absence and, if necessary, sues on behalf of workers to enforce those rights.

The federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), allows covered employees up to 12 weeks of continuous or intermittent leave to attend to their serious health conditions or to those of their immediate family. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), covered employees may be entitled to the "reasonable accommodation" of time off from work.
